Beast = kings and kingdoms
Daniel 7:23 (KJV) Thus he said, The fourth beast shall be the fourth kingdom upon earth, which shall be diverse from all kingdoms, and shall devour the whole earth, and shall tread it down, and break it in pieces.
Wind = strife, commotion, destruction – like with a tornado or hurricane, there is strife and turbulence. The winds are going in all directions, thus the 4 winds:
Revelation 7:1 (KJV) And after these things I saw four angels standing on the four corners of the earth, holding the four winds of the earth, that the wind should not blow on the earth, nor on the sea, nor on any tree.
Daniel 8:8 (KJV) Therefore the he goat waxed very great: and when he was strong, the great horn was broken; and for it came up four notable ones toward the four winds of heaven.
Water = peoples, multitude, nations, tongues. To over run like a flood in Daniel 9 and as the dragon send a flood in Revelation 12 is referring to armies. When powers rise up out of the sea, they are rising up out of the existing nations.
Revelation 17:15 (KJV) And he saith unto me, The waters which thou sawest, where the whore sitteth, are peoples, and multitudes, and nations, and tongues.
Time = 1 complete cycle of seasons or a year.
Times = a couple or a pair, 2
Dividing = half of 1
3 1/2 years = 42 months = 1260 days.
Horn = 1. symbol of strength and power, 2. an emblem of glory, honor, dignity, 3. kingdom or state
1 Samuel 2:10 (KJV) The adversaries of the LORD shall be broken to pieces; out of heaven shall he thunder upon them: the LORD shall judge the ends of the earth; and he shall give strength unto his king, and exalt the horn of his anointed.
2 Samuel 22:3 (KJV) The God of my rock; in him will I trust: he is my shield, and the horn of my salvation, my high tower, and my refuge, my saviour; thou savest me from violence.
Beast = Roman Papacy
red horses – Zechariah 1:8; Revelation 6:4
filthy Joshua – Zechariah 3:4
olive trees – Zechariah 4:3; = witnesses, anointed ones
Revelation 11:3-4 (KJV) And I will give power unto my two witnesses, and they shall prophesy a thousand two hundred and threescore days, clothed in sackcloth. These are the two olive trees, and the two candlesticks standing before the God of the earth.
